Yesterday was spent at the paintball field over at Paintball USA, located in Oxnard. It's been nearly a decade since I last went for a round of paintball but this outdoor activity is still as fun as it used to be! We played a bunch of rounds and ended up recruiting four kids we met on the field. It was really fun and probably the closest thing I've ever experience to being in an action-packed movie.

After we went paint balling, we drove a bit through Oxnard and ended up grabbing lunch at HB Seafood Market & Restaurant, located on their Fisherman's Wharf.

Their food was amazing - but then again, seafood always hits the spot. Their fried scallops dipped in tartar sauce were pretty mouthwatering as well. (Side note: it would've been a lot better if the people manning the place were just a bit friendlier).

When we left the place, we missed our exit for the 101, so we cruised down the Pacific Coast Highway. We made a quick stop by Thornhill Broome Beach and just enjoyed the peaceful scenery the beach had to offer.

Paintball and the Beach ☼

I managed to go to have my first beach trip for the year already! Chris and I went to the Thousand Steps beach in Laguna Beach yesterday. The place was beyond beautiful - too bad it was overcrowded by annoying teenagers. We had lunch at a local restaurant called Hennessy's and then we headed straight to the beach.

Thousand Steps

I'll be completely honest - I despise sitting in the car for more than two hours, but I'd pick a road trip over flying anyway. While road trips can be strenuous, they're actually quite fun! in two weeks, my family and I are headed to Cedar City, UT! I'm stoked for this trip as I'll be setting foot in a whole new state*! Plus, according to travel books, Zion National Park and Bryce National Park are quite a scenic view (insert hundreds of photos taken of nothing but nature)

I AM READY FOR YOU, UTAH.

*Remember my goal to see all 50 states? After Utah, I'll have 46 to go.
(Shout out to VSCO cam for making that photo look pretty.)

Countdown: Utah

All at once we were madly, clumsily, shamelessly, agonizingly in love with each other; hopelessly, I should add, because that frenzy of mutual possession might have been assuaged only by our actually imbibing and assimilating every particle of each other's soul and flesh; but there we were, unable even to mate as slum children would have so easily found an opportunity to do so.

Once upon a time
